Why we offer Academic Pricing
PlotStudio originally had a broader focus on business and professional data analysis, but we are increasingly shifting the product toward researchers and research workflows.
Academic Pricing helps us make PlotStudio more accessible to researchers while building a closer relationship with the people actually using it for research.

Who can apply
You must have an active affiliation with an accredited university, research institute, or research hospital, and use data analysis as part of your work.
Academic Invitations
Academic Members receive a small number of one-use Academic Invitations that can be shared with colleagues, collaborators, labmates, or other researchers who may benefit from PlotStudio.
They receive Academic Pricing
An invitation allows another eligible researcher to access the same Academic Pricing without going through the standard application process.
You receive a complimentary month
When one of your Academic Invitations is activated, we'll apply one complimentary month to your PlotStudio membership.
If you use all of your invitations, you can contact us about receiving additional ones.
Invitations within your institution
To keep the program manageable, we initially approve a limited number of direct applications from each institution. If someone at your institution is already an Academic Member, we recommend asking them for an invitation before submitting a separate application. This gives you direct access to Academic Pricing, while the existing member receives a complimentary month.
There is no sales quota and no expectation that people you invite become long-term customers. Academic Invitations are simply a way to share the program with researchers you believe may find PlotStudio useful.

Faculty and classroom access
If you're a faculty member, lecturer, instructor, or research supervisor, tell us about courses, capstones, labs, or research cohorts where students regularly work with data.
For a limited number of suitable courses, we may be able to provide complimentary PlotStudio credits for students as part of a classroom or cohort pilot.
Pilots are reviewed separately and depend on
We ask instructors to use PlotStudio themselves first. If you think it would work for your students after trying it, we can discuss what a pilot might look like.
How it works
Apply
Apply using your institutional email and tell us briefly about your research, how you would use PlotStudio, and the type of research community you work in.
We review your application
We verify your academic affiliation and review each application individually. We primarily look for researchers who have a clear use for PlotStudio and whose work can help us better understand how agentic analytics is used across different research fields. Not every eligible applicant is accepted. Most applications are reviewed within 48 hours.
Activate Academic Pricing
If your application is approved, you'll receive a code for your selected plan — BYOK at $14.99/month or Managed Credits at $29.99/month. Your approval is valid for 14 days.
Receive your Academic Invitations
We'll also send you your first Academic Invitations. You can share them with researchers in your network who you think would benefit from PlotStudio. Each activated invitation gives you one complimentary month.
